Information Systems Strategic Planning (ISSP)

Failing to plan is planning to fail! Embarking on an automation or computerization project without careful requirements analysis and planning often yields a very low or no return on technology investments. Information Systems Strategic Planning (ISSP) is an exercise that helps enterprises determines the optimal objectives path for fulfilling their business. It provides a way to plan and manage the use of information through a comprehensive and usable framework which links business objectives whilst focusing on information technology. Designing technology architecture in this manner ensures effective management of information resources. Specifically, the ISSP helps:

•  Align technology with the company's business model;

•  Assess the current and future information requirements based on the business model;

•  Construct a “Business System Architecture” (BSA) that will satisfy identified information requirements;

•  Construct an “Information Technology Architecture” (ITA) to support the BSA;

•  Present the information technology recommendations to management in a way that they can readily understand, evaluate and act upon an implementation plan.

Business Process Reengineering
In Business Process Reengineering (BPR) a 'holistic' approach is employed that combines people, process and technology to achieve breakthroughs in business performance. Typically, such assignments involve a radical redesign of business processes, which in turn may require restructuring the organization, upgrading information systems, as well as, a shift in corporate values and mindsets. These assignments normally involve following steps;

•  Planning and Preparation for Re-engineering – As-Is Study of business processes

•  Mapping and Analysis of As-Is Process

•  Designing of “To-Be” Processes

•  Development & Software coding of “To-Be” Process

•  Implementation of Re-engineered Process

•  Training of Human Resources for Re-engineered and Newly Developed Process

•  Post Implementation Review & Audit

Our approach for reassessing, realigning and reengineering business processes is based on the tools and techniques of Focused Quality Management (FQM). The reason - tightly focusing on quality initiatives produces desired business results. As a basis for our approach, we use a three-tier Activity Matrix that serves as a guiding principle and backbone for implementing change management. This activity matrix revolves around three fundamental components - people, processes and technology - and these are reassessed across a three-tier change spectrum - refine, redesign, and reengineer. This approach helps assess which specific components of a business process need to change and the extent of change required in each one of them.

Enterprise Resource Planning
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is the finest expression of the inseparability of business and information technology. ERP can help business enterprises gain a competitive advantage by integrating all business processes and optimizing available resources. Typically, ERP systems include, Financials, Supply Chain Management (Procurement, Inventory and Stores Management, Sales and Distribution, etc.), Manufacturing, Plant Maintenance, Human Capital Management (Human Resources, Payroll, Benevolent Funds, etc.), Project Management Systems, which work with each other in an integrated systems environment. It is not possible to think of an ERP system without a sophisticated information technology infrastructure.
Incremental improvement in information technology and drastic reduction in prices of computers has made it possible even for small-to-medium size organizations to implement ERP solutions. Our experienced ERP consultants provide implementation support for leading ERPs, such as Oracle, SAP ro Microsoft Dynamics. In addition we provide ERP supervision support that entails quality assurance and advisory services to clients where third party ERP implementers are engaged.

Project Management
Project management is the ensemble of tasks and activities for successfully achieving a set of business goals. This includes planning, scheduling and maintaining progress of the activities that comprise the project. The risk of failure is primarily due to the presence of uncertainty at different stages of the project. Project management is the discipline of mitigating the risk of failure. Our Project Management methodology is based on a simple and consistent five-step approach (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Completion) that is flexible and scalable, allowing us to effectively handle large and complex projects. Following this approach, we have been able to successfully manage the four key variables - time, cost, quality and scope.
